NELLY AGASSI
Born in Israel (1973). Lives and works in Tel Aviv and Chicago.
By means of video, performance, sculpture, fiber installation, and paper, Agassi’s artwork moves between body and space, using imperfect objects to express her own fragility. The body is used as “a site and a storage space” while she experiments with the broadening of the self by creating dynamic spaces around it. In recent years, her abstract pencil-drawings have been inspired by floor plans of the Kirkbride Buildings, yet still portray a personal and conceptual language.
