SHONY RIVNAY
Shony Rivnay (born 1952, Israel) is a multimedia artist whose works revolve around painting, video, sculpture, and performance. He is a provocateur who challenges ways of thinking and seeing. Rivnay uses the various mediums to create interventions in space and time, react to social and political events, and to reflect on existential questions regarding our state of being.
His works allow an inclusive look at our being, both physiologically and psychologically, and act at the micro and macro level of seeing and experiencing. The paintings are conceptual yet lie on the verge of the intentional and the unpredictable. They reflect on the many aspects of our existence, arranged together, and their compositions reflect an order that secretly repeats itself yet is experienced as new.

Rivnay’s newly formed abstract paintings reflect on the fascinating world that appears while looking through a microscope. Some of the shapes in the painting recur in slight variations and provide interpretations for elements and patterns in the cosmos. The organic shapes and bright colors provide a challenging dynamic and fascinating balance between the different parts of the painting.
